When playing a file, the id3 tags Artist and Title are displayed on the screen. Press STOP to exit id3 display and go back to the dir browser. The file remains playing. For continuous playback of all files in the directory, you must remain in id3 display mode. To stop playback, press STOP in the root dir. Pressing stop in any other directory will simply take you to the previous directory level. Press MENU to enter the menu. There are a few settings and a Version display screen. No settings are stored, so they get reset to default after reboot. Performance ----------- We have tested with bit rates from 32 to 320 kbit/s and sample frequencies from 11 to 48 kHz. If you experience skipping, please report it! Playlists --------- Files ending in ".m3u" are assumed to be playlist files. The supported file format for playlists are plain text: One file path per line. Both back- and forward slashed are supported, as well as drive letters (which are simply ignored). Relative paths are however not yet supported, all paths must begin in the root dir no matter where the playlist file is located. Playlist files are limited to max 10000 entries. Entry 10001 and above are ignored. A menu option selects whether to shuffle the playlist on load or play it in order. To reshuffle a playlist, start/load it again. Limitations ----------- There are a number of shortcomings and limitations that will be addressed in later versions: - Max 200 files in a dir - Continuous mode (playing all files in a dir) requires you to stay in id3 display mode. Exiting back to the browser will make playback stop when the currently playing song has finished. - During continuous mode, only the first file's id3 info is displayed. - No dir/file indication in browser (Player version) - Not using LCD icons (Player version) - No filename or extension filter in browser - No back-light handling - No MP3 playback in Recorder version - Playlist playback stops if encountering a non-existing file - When you start a play list, it starts playing and then returns you to the file browser. No ID3 display is currently done for playlists. Bug reports ----------- If you find that one of the supported features misbehave, please file a bug report on our web page. Do not report missing features as bugs, instead file them as feature requests. License ------- All files in this archive are subject to the GNU General Public License.
